SabbathRescue Saves Dog Bitten by A Rattle Snake In The Face
Sabbath Rescue Saves Dog Bitten By Rattle Snake!
Rocco was bitten in the face by a Rattle Snake on Monday Nov. 17, 08. Robbie Coy, (the driving force of Sabbath Rescue) raced against time to find the anti-venom. The cost for the anti-venom is $3000.00. It was an absolutely moment to moment life and death situation. Without the anti-venom, Rocco would surely die.
Fortunately the Fire House nearby had the anti-venom. They donated it, and Robbie was able to get the dog there in time, and Animal Planet filmed the whole event. There will be a special airing of this some time in Dec. 08, I'll update the exact date shortly.
Rocco is continuing to recover, and is expected to make a full recovery. One of the Vet Techs who treated him has adopted him. Which was also filmed by Animal Planet, and we'll update you as to when it air. Very happy ending to this story.
Sabbath Rescue does some pretty astounding things for Animals.
The Organization is a 501 3c Non-Profit, and really needs people to get involved even in a small way.
Donations are desperately need, as the amount of foreclosures are going up each week...the Animals are the first to be left behind. Sabbath Rescue is in need of People to Volunteer, Foster Dogs until placement, Spread the Word and Raise Donations, People to Run Internet Ads, and anything else to help promote the cause.
It's never not a desperate situation when Animals are left to starve. There is a very morbid trend taking root here of Foreclosure = Kill The Pets. I find it unacceptable, and I'm angry that people resort to this behavior.
Even though I actually do understand, can explain it, can decipher the who, what, where, when, and why. I still am very angry, sad, emotional, and frustrated.
Please help in some way so an Animal may be saved.
Your Help is needed. More pets are being abandoned since the collapse of the market. SabbathRescue.org cannot handle it alone, they need all the help they can get.

Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue - Where Animals Find Love
Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue Center, Inc. Our Mission
Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue Center, Inc. 305-799-1567 Robbie Coy, rescues strays and provides medical care. We rehabilitate injured and sick dogs back to health so that they can be adopted into loving homes.
Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue Center, Inc. operates on a simple philosophy: We believe that every dog deserves a chance for a quality life. If we can determine a dog is fit for placement and needs no care, we will release it to a new home as soon as possible. But if we see rehabilitation is necessary, we will continue to work with the long-term cases until we are happy with the results. A dog taken into the SMDRC program will get loved, cared for, and trained until the adjustment is complete, and a home that matches the requirements is found.
Please visit our "Available Dogs" page and see the dogs we have available. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescue dogs, please come in and fill out an adoption application.

Do you love animals but don't know what you can do to help? There are many ways you can help us help them.
Adoption
Many prospective dog owners are just not convinced that owning an older, "pre-owned" dog is better than buying a puppy. But there are a number of reasons why adopting a pet from a rescue that carefully screens and evaluates its dogs can provide an even better alternative.
Dogs who have been uprooted from their happy homes or have not had the best start in life are more likely to bond very completely and deeply with their new people. Those who have lost their families through death, divorce or lifestyle change go through a terrible mourning process. But, once attached to a new loving family, they seem to want to please as much as possible to make sure they are never homeless again. Those dogs that are just learning about the good life and good people seem to bond even deeper. They know what life on the streets, life on the end of a chain, or worse is all about, and they revel and blossom in a nurturing, loving environment. Most rescues make exceptionally affectionate and attentive pets and extremely loyal companions. Choosing a rescue dog over a purchased pup will not solve the pet overpopulation problem (only responsible pet owners and breeders can do that), but it does give many of them a chance they otherwise would not have. But, beyond doing a "good deed", adopting a rescue dog can be the best decision and addition to the family you ever made. Rescue a dog and get a devoted friend for life!
Volunteering
If adopting or fostering is not an option for you, but you'd like to help us out in other ways, then volunteer. As a volunteer, there are so many functions that you can be apart of to help with the placement of rescue dogs such as screening adoption applicants, help with transporting a rescue dog to a foster/permanent home or to the vet, identifying dogs in need of help at shelters, and the most enjoyable thing you can help with is participating in fundraisers. Fundraisers include helping at booths set up at adoption fairs, car/pet washes, picnics, and many other fun events. We always need an extra helping hand, so think about signing up to be a volunteer today! E-mail us if you have any questions.
